How to protect your Search History on Google?

Do you like your privacy? Do you have any annoying friends who keep snooping around to see what you search online? If yes, do use Google’s Incognito mode often? Have you ever wondered how can you hide your search history on Google from your roommates, partner, or even your parents? Are you tired of cleaning your search history every day? If you answered yes to at least one of the questions then we have good news for you. In this article, you will know how to hide your browsing history on Google Chrome and hide your search results using my Google activity which is password protected. What you do online is your personal business and what content you consume or research is none of the other people’s business so your data needs to be protected.

Steps to How to Protect your Search History

If you click on the following link activity.google.com and sign in to your account. You can all see your Google activity such as the Web and App Activity, Location History, and YouTube History. Anyone having access to your Google account across any device can actually see the things you have searched or the videos you watched or the places you have searched on Google Maps.

2. Select the option “Require Extra verification” and Save your preference

My activity Verification

3. Google will ask you to verify your account with your Gmail Password to complete the process

4. For someone to access your full history now Google will ask you to verify every time with your Gmail password each time

Now, if you have shared accounts with a sibling this hardly makes any sense and is not secure for that matter because you need to just enter your password to access the search history. But, you can also manually delete your search history or choose the Auto-delete option to clear out all of your web and app activity, Location History, and YouTube History from the past 3 months, 18 months, or 36 months. You can also pause or switch off for Google to stop tracking and giving you personalized recommendations based on the content you consume online and on YouTube.

Conclusion

So here were the simple steps to protect your online search history. You don’t have to be afraid of others snooping around to know what you do online. If this article was helpful let us know in the comments section.
